Detailed Guide to Cable Termination Manufacturing and Installation Process

Published: 2026-07-20

Cable terminations are key components in power cable lines, and their manufacturing and installation quality directly affects the safe operation of cable lines. This article details the manufacturing and installation process for 10kV and 35kV cable terminations.

Material preparation: Required materials include cable termination kits, stress tubes, semiconductive tape, insulation tape, and phase color tubes. All materials should be checked for certificates of conformity and used within their validity period.

Manufacturing process: First, cut the cable according to specifications and strip the outer sheath, armor layer, and inner sheath. Then install the stress tube, controlling the heating shrinkage temperature at 120-140℃. Next, wind the insulation tape layer by layer, ensuring uniform thickness.

Quality control key points: Key control points in the manufacturing process include: smooth semiconductive layer cutting, accurate stress tube installation position, bubble and impurity-free insulation layer, and reliable ground wire connection. After installation, insulation resistance testing and withstand voltage testing should be performed.
