Technical Specifications for Selection and Installation of Vibration Dampers in Transmission Lines
Vibration dampers are one of the most important fittings in transmission lines, mainly used to eliminate conductor wind-induced vibration and prevent conductor fatigue fracture.
Selection principles: Damper selection needs to comprehensively consider factors such as conductor diameter, span length, and wind speed conditions. Generally, the larger the span and the higher the wind speed, the greater the number and weight of dampers required.
Installation specifications: Dampers should be installed at the vibration antinode position of the conductor, approximately 0.5-1.0 meters from the clamp outlet. Damper spacing within the same span should be evenly distributed, with maximum spacing not exceeding 50 meters.
Maintenance inspection: At least one dedicated damper inspection per year is recommended, focusing on checking whether the hammer body is loose, rotation is flexible, and installation position is correct.
